Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
At CheckFin, your privacy is not just a promise — it is our architecture. This policy explains how we (do not) handle your data.
🔒 Your data never leaves your browser. We have no servers. There is nothing to hack.
1. We do not collect data
CheckFin processes your bank statements 100% in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server. We have no servers that store user data. There is no user database. There are no user accounts.
2. Basic technical metrics
We use technical metrics for performance and stability. We do not send your files or the contents of your statements; the analysis happens on your device.
3. Local storage
The data you enter is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) to maintain your session. You can delete it at any time via "Delete my data". The browser may retain it between sessions.
4. No data sharing
Since we do not collect data, there is nothing to share, sell, or transfer to third parties. Full stop.
5. Security
All communication with CheckFin is via HTTPS. Data processing occurs exclusively on your device using client-side JavaScript.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data. With CheckFin, exercising these rights is automatic: your data only exists in your browser and you control its deletion.
7. Contact
